Still Striving for Simplicity

I am determined to have a simple life, but even though I work real hard at reaching my goal, I still manage to create a chaotic world for myself. I have come to the conclusion that I need to look at things differently and simplicity will come on its own.

An Alaskan Native man came into the gift shop where I work.  He read my name tag and then commented on my name.  He told me he liked my name because it is simple, not complicated.  Just Cee, easy to remember and not a lot to complicate it.  He also said that simplicity is really needed in this world.  He told me that I had simplicity just because of my name.  I don't know if I gave him a confused look or he just felt that what he felt needed to be repeated.  He then told me that I was fortunate because I had simplicity just because of my name.  After he left I thought about what he said and it caused me to have an  Aha! moment.

Many Native Groups put a lot into a name and many say that you are your name and you need to live up to it.  I chose my name and in my choosing I put in a lot of thought.  I wanted my name to be simplistic and when people asked me for my real name, instead of saying that Cee is my real name, I went through a lengthy explanation.  I can now say with conviction that my real name is Cee because I believe that Cee is who I am.  I am just Cee in name and spirit, nothing else and I am comfortable to be Cee even though others try to make more out of it than it is.

Simplicity in Nature
